Our Veterinarians

Dr. Broadbent has almost 40 years of equine veterinary experience. He began his career as a veterinarian with Teigland, Franklin & Brokken in South Florida and also worked for Ford Equine Hospital before beginning his own practice here in Marion County in 1986. His special interests include joint disease and lameness.

He completed his pre-veterinary education at Tennessee Tech in 1979 and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Unversity of Tennessee in 1982. He lives in Ocala with his wife, Becky; they have two daughters and four granddaughters. When Dr. Broadbent is not working, he enjoys fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Dr. Knowles was born and raised in Marion County and has been with the practice for 15 years. He has special interests in shockwave therapy, equine dentistry and acupuncture.

He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida in 2002 and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Unversity of Florida in 2007. In 2010, he completed the equine acupuncture course at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. He lives in Summerfield with his wife, Laforis, and their three children. When Dr. Knowles is not working, he enjoys the beach and spending time with his family.
